You know how much I love dressing inappropriately for every occasion – like wearing a skirt when rappelling down a cave in Gibraltar or climbing the Atlas mountains in fuchsia sandals.
It should hence come as no surprise that when packing for my recent road trip to the Scottish Highlands I opted for the least hiking-appropriate attire imaginable… according to my boyfriend, anyway. In my world, a pink eyelash knit jumper is just as hiking-appropriate as a shapeless windbreaker.
Naturally, that is exactly what I wore to explore Glenfinnan Viaduct and its surroundings. Although the name might not sound familiar I’m almost certain you know it. Why? Because it’s the place where all those brilliant Hogwarts Express scenes from the Harry Potter films were shot! I’ll be posting more about the area soon, but for now let’s talk fashion.
My entire outfit – aside from my Primark shoes – was actually picked out entirely from the Yumi website. Do you remember that outfit I styled for their #Yumi30DaysofSummer challenge? I loved their clothes so much that we agreed to collaborate again for their #YumiLovesWinter campaign!
The pink eyelash knit jumper was a no-brainer for me – it looks (and feels) so cosy and it made me feel like Cher Horowitz! I paired it with a pleated midi skirt covered in specks of gold which reminds me of the night sky. So much poetry in a simple piece of clothing.
The weather in Scotland was predictably unpredictable and very cold, so my little sweater eventually proved insufficient. Luckily I’d brought my new favourite coat – an outrageously fun pink dip-dye faux fur number. Such a wonderful statement piece! I love wearing it with a simple jeans-and-blouse combo, and I even wore it to a show at London Fashion Week.
What do you think of my #YumiLovesWinter outfit? Do you think I’m 90% or 100% crazy for dressing like this on a hike? Let me know – and don’t worry, I think I know the answer to the second question! 🙂
PS: Don’t forget to check out my boyfriendographer and his blog “Travel Unmasked” – he’s the person behind all these lovely photos and pretty much all photos of me on this website.
Disclaimer: Some of the clothing in this post was complimentary, as part of a collaboration with Yumi on their #YumiLovesWinter campaign. As always, all opinions are my own.
