GUM, Moscow: Russia’s Biggest Department Store

Dust off your Louis Vuittons and strap on a pair of Louboutins – they are part of the dress code of today’s destination. A Rolex should do it for the men.

Ain’t got one? Well, you clearly are not the target customer of GUM, the Russian equivalent Harrods. The Glavnyi Universalnyi Magazin – also known as the Main Department Store – used to be the place to buy your groceries during to Soviet era. Nowadays, it is the¬†place to buy a new Furla handbag or – if you’re me – to wistfully stare at luxurious displays of clothes, which cost more than what you make in a year. Which is pretty much anything at this point, because I don’t have a job at the moment. Just watch the video before my life makes you too depressed.
