20 Jan 2016: A Year in Review
I’m not much of a nostalgic person.
I’d much rather stare at the back of future’s head than wistfully gaze over my shoulder at days gone by. But even so, I think it’s important to occasionally audit our lives and the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to do just that.
Although I spent much of 2016 moping around like a character from a Mexican telenovela, it had its good moments. It had some excellent moments! In just 365 days I managed to visit 13 countries, live in three European cities and grow the Girls vs Globe family.
But instead of counting countries which is not really my style, let me take a moment and count my blessings. Here are a few of them, in the form of a short video…
…whoa! What a year it’s been. Despite the underlying current of what-the-hell-am-I-doing-ness, I made some incredible memories in 2016. Here are a few of them, written up in the form of haiku poems.
Why? Why the hell not. It’s 2017 and I’m ready to bring out my double Ds. No, not that kind! I mean allowing myself to be different and daring. Because that’s what this whole blogging thing is about.
